BE Offices Commits to B Corporation Certification
Flexible Space Association member BE Offices has announced it has committed to pursuing B Corporation Certification as a means of affirming one of its core values – We have a commitment to our communities and the environment.
Certified B Corporations are companies verified by B Lab to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability with B Corps committing to positively impact all stakeholders – workers, communities, customer, and our planet.
The rigorous certification process will see BE Offices measure company impact on workers, communities, customers, and the environment, from supply chain to carbon footprint, from inclusion policies to employee engagement.
Commenting on the impact of B Corporation certification, Chris Turner, executive director at B Lab UK has previously said: “B Corporations are proving that businesses flourish when they are committed to aligning the interests of all stakeholders: society, the environment, and their shareholders.”
Commenting on BE Offices’ commitment to seek B Corporation Certification, David Saul, Co-CEO said: “BE Offices has long been committed to responsible business practice, indeed it has been one of our core values – We have a responsibility to our communities and the environment – since they were laid down in 2006, long before most organisations were putting ESG on their agendas.
“It’s easy for businesses to pay lip service to corporate social responsibility, but the rigorous process of the Business Impact Assessment ensures that certified organisations have truly demonstrated that both people and the planet matter. Certified companies join forces with like-minded organisations in their commitment to building an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economic system for the benefit of people everywhere and for the planet as a whole, and we want to be part of that growing global community, which has now surpassed 5,000 organisations internationally.”
With a Green Group, BE’s internal sustainability team, in place as far back as 2009, now expanding its remit to include social impact and governance issues, BE are confident that measures taken over the past years to mitigate its environmental impact, together with numerous social impact initiatives and governance which has seen the company accredited Investors in People for over a decade, will combine to exceed the required number of points for application.
