Filming in Flexible Workspaces

Our latest Workspace Wisdom Webinar covered the topic of using flexible workspace as a location for filming, and if you missed it you can now catch up with the recording.

This topic had come up at a number of FlexSA roundtable meetings, so we brought together a panel to talk about how to go about securing opportunities for filming and things to think about.

Caroline Hamilton from Origin Workspace in Bristol has overseen use of their building for a host of filming, including for Amazon Prime and BBC productions.  She was joined by Emily Christopher and Lily Gonnissen from Location Collective,  a leading London film production agency with over a decade of experience in connecting properties with film productions.

They answered questions from FlexSA’s Executive Director Jane Sartin, and those posed by people watching the webinar, on a wide range of related matters, from how to secure interest in a building, to ways to minimise disruption to workspace customers.

The webinar also touched on how fees are determined, timescales and tips to ensure the process runs smoothly.

Many counties and regions have dedicated film offices, which can be a good place to start for anyone interested in their building being used for filming.  Filming in England also provides helpful information on filming locations, and the British Film Commission has guidance on some of the regulations to be aware of.

You can catch up with the webinar here.
