Focus on Service Innovation Award

With just under 2 weeks to go enter the Flexible Space Association Awards, we’re taking a look at the Service Innovation Award.

This recognises new or expanded services which offer ‘something different’ within the sector, as a new service or a new way of doing things.

This award is sponsored by FlexSA member Opstech, whose CEO Inga Taylor commented: “There is constant innovation in the Flexible workspace industry, with operators developing new ways to add value for their clients and do things differently.  The providers of services to the sector are also showing themselves to be increasingly innovative in how they support the running of flexible workspaces.

“I’m proud that Opstech is supporting FlexSA’s Service Innovation Award this year, and hope that a broad range of initiatives are entered for consideration.”

Previous winners of the Service Innovation Award have been:

2023Wizu Workspace (pictured receiving the award), who embarked on a journey to revolutionise the workspace experience, in recognition of the shift to hybrid working and the growing desire of people to have a better work-life balance and awareness of mental health.

They partnered with a popular local coffee shop, Hygge to create a new space within their premises.  It fuses flexible workspace with hygge-inspired hospitality.  The design of this space within their building incorporates natural elements, warm lighting and comfortable furnishings.

2022UBC for hUBClub.  This was developed as a brand and service which seeks to address more flexible working patterns and the desire for collaboration, especially among smaller businesses.  It allows clients to use UBC offices with full flexibility, having full-time or part-time coworking, or ad-hoc use of a day office or meeting room.

2021Huckletree for their focus on developing optimism, business growth and human interaction for their clients. This included launching new educational programmes, for example a complimentary 6-week career upskilling programme for junior employees of members’ businesses.  They have also implemented initiatives supporting founders from under-represented backgrounds, and increased their commitment to being a more sustainable business.

The FlexSA Awards are free for all our member companies to enter, and the deadline is 6pm on Thursday 24th October.  Entries can be made on our online portal.
