Reforms to Employment Law

Those watching today’s Workspace Wisdom Webinar live benefited from a wealth of information on changes to employment law, but if you missed it you can catch up with the recording.

Lauren Harkin, Partner at FlexSA Service Provider Member RWK Goodman, gave an overview of key changes to employment law which came into force last year, including on flexible working, maternity and paternity leave, and carer’s leave.

The main part of Lauren’s presentation focused on new sexual harassment laws, and provided important information on duties employers need to be aware of.  This included covering that the responsibilities did not stop at situations involving employees, but on the duty to prevent sexual harassment by third parties – something of particular relevance within shared workspace where employees of many different companies come together.

Lauren also touched on further employment laws expected over the coming years, with the new government having already outlined a number of changes.
